The route

What is DBR Tunisia?

Start in Bir Soltane and, over four stages, make your way across the Tunisian Sahara to the finish in Zmela. Each day takes you to a new destination, through changing terrain, from sand and rocky tracks to plateaus, canyons and oases.

  1. Rider crossing a sand dune in the Tunisian Sahara

    Stage 1: Sand & Rocks

Southern Tunisia's contrasting terrain from the start: sandy tracks, rocky sections and dry river crossings that never let the surface settle into a rhythm.

  2. Group of riders at sunset in the Sahara

Stage 2: Plateaus & Sea Views

The week's hardest climbing, across wide plateaus and mountain roads, rewarded from the highest points with views stretching toward the Mediterranean.

  3. Gravel descent through a canyon in southern Tunisia

    Stage 3: Ksour & Canyons

Canyon landscapes, dry valleys and traditional ksour, the historic fortified settlements that define this part of southern Tunisia.

  4. Riders on the road to Chenini, southern Tunisia

Stage 4: Chenini & the Oasis

Canyon roads and oasis landscapes past the Berber village of Chenini: one final, fast taste of Tunisia before the finish line.
